Overcoming Negativity

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

Negativity is something that is a detriment to humanity as a whole and causes all sorts of problems.  I often have negative thoughts about this or that, and it can hinder me in some way.  Getting bogged down by negative emotions and thoughts is not something I want for myself, nor for others.  The more you focus on negative thoughts, the more negativity you bring to yourself.  I know that this blog can seem pretty negative at times, but that’s because of the information I’m trying to spread and the vision I have of the future.  A future I’ll probably never see, but want to happen eventually anyway.  But in looking at some of the things I’ve written, I really want to spin humanity in a more positive light, as there are some great thinkers and other great people here, and it is a smaller percentage of bad or control-obsessed people who are pulling all the strings.

I realize that I don’t have to identify with society, nor do I have to attack it unless it is imposing its will on me.  I can choose to be nobody but myself regardless of what the rest of the world thinks.  Although I cannot do things that are against the societal laws, which are getting more and more ridiculous, I can still live a pretty good life mentally outside the system.  I can still be productive and enlighten others to “drop out,” if only mentally, to resist the propaganda and to become more conscious.  For example, in the past 6-12 months, I’ve pretty much given up television and it’s not because of the shows, but the advertisements.  Well, okay, most of the shows as well.  The only shows I now watch are Law and Order: SVU, Family Guy, and South Park.  And I usually watch them online, with significantly fewer ads.  It’s just a way to get the beast out of my head and distance myself mentally from all the chitter chatter that doesn’t matter.

I’ve been opening new doorways while closing the social conditioning that I’ve been dealing with for years.  I’ve known for quite a while that most people today are socially conditioned robots, unknowingly carrying out the agendas of those in charge.  This is why, in some regard, I try to stay away from the masses.  They reinforce so much negativity, and stupid obsessions, especially with celebrities and non-celebrities (such as reality show stars).  I find much of this to be very simple-minded distraction, which is unhealthy at the least and harmful at the worst.  And almost all news/magazines are focused on negativity or gossip.  Both being completely low vibrational.  What we truly need to change the world are high vibrations.

We used to vibrate at a higher vibration than we do today.  It was probably tens of thousands of years ago.  We lived in peace with everything and everyone around us.  But an onslaught of traumas, both physical and psychological, caused a schism in our consciousness to create the world we see today.  There are a lot of theories to what happened.  One is that there was both an ice age and a magnetic reversal of the poles at the same time, and also a shift with the moon coming into our gravitational field.  Ever wonder why lunatics have the word luna, or moon, at the root of it?  There are even people who say that the moon is housed by reptillian aliens, who are sending their vibrations out to us humans to control us, like radio waves, and those who they supposedly bred with thousands of years ago pick up on these vibrations the best and are further pushing us towards negativity and fear.  This may sound crazy and even borderline delusional, but do any of us really know for sure?  The people who call these beliefs crazy are the very ones enforcing the dominant control system.

Now, saying that, it is safe to say that I don’t blame humans for any of this.  I see now that we most likely were affected on an extraterrestrial level, and we are serving our masters, a race of aliens that are so insecure that they have to control everyone and everything.  I knew there had to be a reason for our increased intelligence in relation to the rest of life on Earth, and our cold-hearted extermination of the rest of the species on this planet.  Why would a species destroy their own home in such a systematic and non-empathetic way?  Because we aren’t exactly completely of this world, but were genetically and psychologically manipulated by a race of aliens that strive to keep us under their control using fear and other negative emotions to keep us from stepping out of line.  I find this information empowering, and it does explain a lot of the plight of humans for me.  It was this trauma, which occurred after a series of Earthly traumas, that caused the human beings we see walking around today.  And it is the 13 bloodlines through which these aliens bred with most frequently that are in charge of the world we now have.

There are ancient drawings that show these reptillian beings.  There are drawings of alien spacecrafts.  I’ve seen a few documentaries that suggested a huge coverup when it came to alien life forces living here and around here.  If you think this is crazy, it is because you have been conditioned to think that way.  Truth goes through three stages:  first it is  ridiculed, then it is violently opposed, and eventually it is accepted as self-evident.  And the more awareness we shed on the control structure and its origins, the more empowered we become and the better off we are from resisting their agenda.

There is a global awakening upon us, and the control system is doing everything it can to stop it.  But it is going to happen regardless.  We are going to finally wake up and eventually start living positive lives without the control system attacking our psyches.  The Earth goes through contraction and expansion phases.  This system we have been in for thousands of years is a contraction phase, although it would seem to the naked eye like an expansion phase, because of all the physical progress (and extermination) we’ve completed.  But it has been a constriction in the form of control and domination.  What we will be transitioning to is a more free and liberated society.  The aliens or Illuminati or whatever is in control of us will have no more power over us, and will no longer be able to feed us negative emotions and vibrations on a daily basis, because our vibrations will be too high and positive.  But they are still scrambling, much like a man standing in a rapidly increasing river.  Eventually the man will be toppled over.

These reptillians feed off of our negativity, so the higher we vibrate, the less they can even subsist.  What we need to do is calibrate at higher and higher levels of consciousness until their grasp is no longer relevant and we can live the lives that we were meant to live.  Expanding your awareness and raising your consciousness to one of power instead of force is the stepping stone to getting where it is we need to be.  And even if there are no aliens controlling us, we all can agree that the people in charge are at least sociopaths devoid of much empathy, seeing on how they can massacre their own people in droves and convince others to do the same or be killed.  And we also need to transcend the police state that is coming, which will most likely not last very long because it will be mostly run by machines, not humans, and most humans do not have loyalty to machines and will be able to scam them much better.

There is a coming expansion and we need to be ready for it.  Some would argue it is already taking place.  People have more freedom than ever before in some circles, especially the unemployed, although they might not see it that way.  They probably see it as a loss of autonomy, when they should be seeing it as a chance to truly do something in this world that doesn’t require money or slavery to a system that left the general populace behind years ago.  Eventually, maybe it will get so bad that they will stop foreclosing on houses because they just don’t have the man-hours to accomplish it.  As the economy declines, less people are serving the control structure, so it’s not such a bad thing after all.  I just wish the people who lost their jobs were doing something to open other people’s minds.  Instead, as they are conditioned to do, they wallow in deep depression because they took so much value from their work, their sense of purpose.  And all they were doing was serving the very masters that bind them.

I want to conclude this article by saying that this expansion will be immensely challenging and that if we are not prepared for it, it will be worse, but just know on the inside that it will lead to something extraordinarily better than what we have now.  It may be painful at first, but we will emerge on the other side so much better and so much more powerful personally, which is what we have lost so much of in the past few millennia.    If you don’t believe in aliens, that’s fine, but that is probably because they try so hard never to be exposed.  They will be exposed in the coming decades, and we will transcend their control.  (Don’t think I’ve lost my mind.  The man in the moon is not just a fairy tale.)  But don’t worry about them, because sooner than later we will be completely autonomous once again, so it is of no consequence.  We will once again begin living like we were meant to, with nature and not against it.

Let’s Start a Revolution

Thursday, January 27th, 2011

I find it funny, even hilarious at how low this blog ranks in search engines.  Last time I checked, it was somewhere in the rankings of 3,000,000 when it came to websites.  I mean, that’s not bad, but it certainly won’t earn me any money, nor will it generate any buzz.  I could promote and market my site, but that seems tedious and pointless, so I’m just going to have to stay content being off the map.  And I’m fine with it, but eventually I’ll want to grow this cash cow into something that actually earns cash.  A million dollars would be nice, more even.  Just so I can live my life any way I please without many negative consequences.

Once this million dollars comes into my life, I plan to get a nice piece of land out in the country and build a small, modest home on it.  When I say small, I mean it.  Maybe 500 square feet, maybe less.  Perhaps a little more, but I’m sure most of that space will go to waste.  I plan to live there and write/explore.  I find that writing has a lot of solace in it and I enjoy it immensely.  I may write for others, or even just myself.  It won’t matter, because I won’t need any more money for the rest of my life.  I’ll eat very healthily and be at my physical peak, whatever that means for me.  And I won’t invest or anything, I’ll just have a savings account where it will earn interest at least equal to inflation.  I just need to get this damn blog on the map and watch the cash roll in.

It would be nice to be able to devote my entire life to what I believe in, but right now I still have to earn a living.  Earning a living takes a lot of energy out of me, and I can no longer work as hard on other pursuits.  We should be on the  front lines starting a revolution, but we have jobs and cars and homes to pay for and it seems only the unemployed have any free time.  These are people who are most likely wasting much of their free time drinking alcohol or using illicit drugs.  No offense intended.  I’m sure there are a lot of good workers who lost their jobs, and I’m not referring to them.  Why aren’t these people rioting in the streets?  Why aren’t they protesting our governmental tyranny?  Why aren’t they defending the Earth from corporate enslavement?  I don’t know.

There are some people out there who do make a difference, but the problem is that there aren’t enough of them.  And these people are mostly fringe, which gives them far less credibility than Noam Chomsky.  I’ve read articles about the freegans, who live without money, or as little money as possible, living off of the throw-away culture that we have created.  Here’s an article from the NY Times about this:  The Freegan Establishment.  They are considered modern hunter-gatherers.  They are living what the perceive as an ethical life with hardly any money, and people like me, and some others who are far worse, can’t see themselves doing this unless they had a windfall of money.

These people are squatting abandoned homes, eating food out of dumpsters, and traveling across the country while the rest of us are stuck at our soul-crushing jobs so that we can afford our mortgages and car payments.  They are doing what they believe should be rights to food, shelter, and autonomy.  But this world we live in denies those basic human rights to anyone who isn’t willing to become a corporate slave or scammer.  And believe me, there are plenty of scammers out there, especially on Wall Street.  This world is insane, and yet we are forced to go along with it or be shot, jailed, or simply bent to the will of our corporate masters as they kill the Earth with a giant smile.  It makes me sick, but hardly anyone is revolting.

Is it ignorance?  Is it hopelessness?  Is it depression?  What in the world is holding people back?  Do most people actually think this world is sane?  Is that the case?  Seriously?  Just take a look around you.  Look at the history books (that ironically have been edited from what truly happened, substantially).  Read books about forbidden history, the stuff that people who wrote history didn’t want you to know.  Realize that this world is under control by sinister forces, with questionable origins, and that they are conditioning you every day with their constant propaganda of telling you how to feel, what to think, who to admire, and who to condemn.  That is part of the reason I stopped watching television altogether, save for a few instances.  They can’t get to you if you don’t play their game.

When I read about people breaking free of the system and living a different way, it inspires me.  It gives me hope that there are cracks to break through.  The few people who do live on the fringes of society seem to have more fulfilling lives, because they actually stand for something.  Most people do jobs that are meaningless in the context of the meaning of life.  They usually do things that anyone could do if they had the necessary skills, and most jobs are less than extraordinary.  They are a means to and end, a fucking paycheck that most people spend completely before the next payday, thereby perpetuating their need for continuous employment.  But there is a better way.  You don’t have to let the system hold you over a barrel.

You can live very well cheaply while still working and save tons of money.  I’ve done it.  Others have done it.  You just have to adjust your thinking from the high-budget lifestyle to the low-budget lifestyle.  I haven’t bought new shoes in over 2 years.  I haven’t bought new clothes in longer.  I receive clothing as gifts, which I wear.  I eat a pretty healthy diet for less than you would expect.  I do own a car, but I bought it cheap from my grandfather for about half its value.  I very rarely buy things I don’t need.  I hardly ever go out to eat.  I am mentally out of the system, but I still hold down a job and do it well.  I just am not as dependent on it as others, whose life would fall apart if they got fired or laid off.

I’ve got some links in my sidebar about how to do this, and the most pivotal essay is Ran Prieur’s How to Drop Out. He articulates better than me, but we have similar messages.  He is in his 40s, but it feels like his consciousness is somewhere in the mid 20’s range.  This guy is what I do to the extreme.  He even bought land that he is building a cobwood house on.  He may be a semi-dropout, but he makes a hell of a lot more sense than those indoctrinated politicians, and by following this guy’s example, we can create heaven on Earth, instead of this toxic and unstable civilization.  Read some of his other essays as well.  Some very interesting stuff there.

Talkin’ bout revolution… Let’s do it!  We just need to get enough people aware of what is going on in the world.  And we need to get these people to start living the way us “dropouts” do.

You Don’t Need It

Friday, December 17th, 2010

In this holiday season, people may go out on spending sprees, going into debt, and spending the rest of the year paying it off.  We are the consumer culture, buying things we can’t afford made by people in third world countries we’ll never meet.  It’s just the newest chapter of exploitation and greed.  Imagine a world where we didn’t do all of this.  Imagine a world where we were happy with what we had, and didn’t constantly need a new product to make our lives feel whole.  Imagine a world where we saved money, instead of frivolously spending it on things we would later regret buying.  We buy and buy and buy for others during this holiday season, when what we could give them is much more meaningful than a gift.  You could cook them a meal, make them some cards, or just tell these people how you feel about them.  You could have a nice family meeting where everyone goes around saying good things about each other.  There is plenty you can do in lieu of gifts.

For the past few years, when people have asked me what I want for Christmas, I’ve often said, “I don’t know.”  The only thing I would possibly want would be maybe an Amazon gift card to add a few more books to my Kindle, or something that I will get continuous value from, like a mug warmer or a new desk for my computer.  But I don’t really need those things, I just want them.  The desk I have is okay, it works, and I would have to get rid of this one in order to get a new one.  What I could really use is a small filing cabinet that could fit where the tower part of a computer would go if I had a desktop computer.  That way I could be a bit more organized.  Ever since the drawer bottom came out of my one drawer in this desk, I’ve been using a box on the floor.  But it hasn’t caused any suffering yet.  It’s just a minor inconvenience.  And I could easily head down to the Salvation Army and find a file cabinet that fits my needs and I could easily afford it.

What is it we actually need?  Food, water, some kind of shelter, people who support us, and fuel for those terribly cold months some areas of the world experience.  That’s pretty much it.  It is not required to have an iPhone or a Sony Entertainment System.  Those are things that can easily be done without.  Most of us would say we need a computer or a television, but that is simply not true.  Even though today’s world is full of them, and many people’s jobs rely on these new technologies, are they really necessary?  No, but they are still worth having sometimes because we all like to use them every once in awhile.  Self-deprivation is no fun, and we should have things we use, but things we do not use or will never use should be donated, or simply thrown away.  Or even recycled.

Many people today are minimalists and they don’t even know it.  There are people who are minimalists by necessity, because they have very little or no money.  Then there are those who are very wealthy who own very little, because they’ve seen beyond the socially-conditioned way of life and choose to only own what is useful to them.  It’s all about the mindset.  Not to mention that it is wise to save money and buy less now before the complete collapse of the economy.  It won’t take long for this to happen, just a few decades at the most.  We have no idea of the times that we are headed for.  Things certainly haven’t gotten any better, and if that’s any indication of how our future will be, then we need to stop spending fast.  I just hope our government stops printing money so that we don’t experience hyperinflation, which will make all the money we saved up essentially worthless.

I’m trying to justify minimalism in these hard times, because it will be best for us when it all comes crashing down.  And that all this spending, all this debt, is exactly the problem.  Stimulating the economy through credit cards and loans is not going to solve the problem, but just make it worse.  Do you hear that, Washington?  Stop all the spending and maybe someday we’ll get out of this recession.  Stop spending all our hard-earned money on things that don’t benefit us, like the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.  Those wars haven’t helped the American people one bit.  In fact, it has crippled them.  So has all this outsourcing to China and other countries that will willingly exploit their people to send up cheaply-made merchandise.  Is this the world we were meant to live in?  I think not.

Why aren’t people willing to do the things that are necessary to creating the world we were meant to have?  It’s going to start on a conscious level, moving down to the physical.  We need to have a global rise in consciousness before we can get anything done.  We need leaders to get those who are not quite there yet up to our level.  We need to educate people about what is really going on in the world, so that they can make informed choices on what to buy and what not to buy.  Not only that, but what to do, and what not to do.  If we stopped buying things from the corporations who exploit other nations and other people, then they would have no power whatsoever.  If we all stopped going to Walmart and Target and Best Buy, then perhaps we would see a change for the better.  If people would actually think of why something is so cheap and think of the people who actually have to produce these things, there would be the start of a consciousness revolution.

It sure is a mad world out there.  And most people would rather be left in the dark about it, because if they don’t know, they don’t feel they are contributing to it.  But that is sheer willful ignorance.  We are all contributing to this world in one way or another, and we can decide in which way we want to contribute.  We can move towards fear or we can move towards love.  We can keep going on this suicidal trainwreck, or we can stop the train and figure out which steps need to be taken to restore the world to what it once was.  For the benefit of all creatures, not just our narrow, unenlightened self-interest.  Why is it that everyone who ever told us to live together in harmony either got shot or killed in some other way?  When are we finally going to be ready to hear this, much less do it?

Enlightenment

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

What is enlightenment?  It is when you recognize the world for what it is: an illusion.  Everything in this so called universe is an illusion, a dream.  It truly does not exist.  All that exists is God, or consciousness, or whatever it is you wish to call it.  What you are is a divine being, a part of God or consciousness, having a dream of separation, when there is no such thing as separation.  Your ego is a part of this dream.  It is a very persistent dream and there is little room for spectacle.  We think that it is real, just as if we are dreaming while sleeping and feel that the dream is real, but when we wake up, we realize just how absurd the dream was and how it is in no way real, but a projection of the mind or consciousness.  The key to enlightenment is that you become lucid in this dream that we call reality and realize that true reality is Source or God and nothing else.  It is often referred to as Heaven.

For those people who have become enlightened, such as the Buddha and Jesus Christ, they lived in such a way that inspired others to write about them.  Once you become enlightened, there is no more need for additional reincarnations.  It may take many lifetimes to get where it is you need to be to reach enlightenment, but realizing that this reality is indeed a dream, an illusion, is the first step to getting there.  We all are one in reality, but in the dream, we have the illusion of separation, due to the ego’s influence on our consciousness.  The ego is very defensive, and will do almost anything to ensure its survival.  If you ever try to transcend your ego, you will notice that it will fight you to the bitter end.  It will try and trick you.  But what most people don’t realize is that the ego, along with what we think of as the real world, is an illusion and the only true reality is of Source.  The universe was created by the ego, but only in a dream form.  But we don’t realize that until after we die as a physical being or become enlightened in our last incarnation on this planet.

If we were to all “wake up” instantaneously, it would be very traumatic emotionally.  This is why most people don’t truly wake up until they have achieved enlightenment.  It is a noble goal, and could take many lifetimes to achieve.  But you can accelerate the process by becoming a student of A Course in Miracles, or other texts that are designed to get you to the point where you can forgive unconditionally.  Forgiveness is the key to salvation.  And since what you are forgiving isn’t even truly real, but a dream, it’s not so hard to do.  That is, once you get the big picture about the true nature of reality.  I find this to be a fascinating belief system, which comes partially from Jesus Christ’s real teachings, not the stuff you’ll find in the Bible, but the stuff that Jesus and other enlightened beings actually said or did.  Not what people wrote about him centuries later in an attempt to control the masses through guilt and shame.  Christ never advocated such nonsense.  He loved everyone equally, and never judged anyone.  A true humanitarian.

I have to say, reading The Disappearance of the Universe has truly opened my eyes to what many of those enlightened beings were trying to convey.  All of it makes perfect sense from a subjective viewpoint, because they realized that the world is indeed subjective, not objective, and that objectivity was simply an illusion that people regarded as true, simply because that is how they had been conditioned.  The religions we have today have barely any resemblance to what these prophets actually taught, and it has become more about money and converting people to your way of thinking than anything else.  But when you look at what these people actually said, you realize that it has no denomination, as it is the simple truth and nothing else.  The universe is an illusion and the true reality is God consciousness.  Total and complete oneness.

I figure this stuff may be way out there for some people, but it makes sense intuitively to me and many others who have heard of such ideas as subjective reality and God consciousness.  To become enlightened is to truly know who you really are, not your ego, and not your mind, but pure God consciousness.  You are the same as God, as he created you in his image.  Not your physical body, but your spirit or soul.  And when your physical body dies off, you will return home to whence you came, and then come back to the illusion until you reach the peak of enlightenment.  At that point, you will no longer have any need to go back into the illusion, other than to help other illusory bodies pass over to the enlightenment side.  It’s a journey to say the least, and getting there will not be easy.  Most people need help from some spiritual source, but it will happen for everyone eventually, as there is no time limit, as the time in this illusory reality is also illusory.  So, no need to worry if you’re not there yet.  You will be, your path is already pre-determined, but you can always choose to accelerate or delay the process of returning Home.  The choice is up to you.  I definitely recommend reading The Disappearance of the Universe, and then A Course in Miracles.  I haven’t read the latter yet, but the former has tons of references from that book, so it has a similar structure.

Good luck on your path towards ultimate bliss and enlightenment.  It may take lifetimes, but it will be well worth it in the end.

Power vs. Force

Thursday, October 7th, 2010

I’m currently reading a book by Dr. David Hawkins called Power vs. Force.  A great book for looking at levels of consciousness and even answers what consciousness is.  The book is very complex and it will take several reads before I absorb all of the messages in it.  It feels intuitively right to me, so I’m going to keep reading it.  I’m about 3/4 of the way done and so far, it has been a very humbling experience.  Whether or not you believe in pure consciousness or what others call “a higher power,” this book is extraordinary in its case for raising your level of existence to the point where you are living more effectively and not only that, with much more wisdom.

There is a scale of consciousness, all the way from shame to enlightenment.  Shame is when you are living so low that suicide seems like the only option and enlightenment is where you are one with everything and live in a timeless manner.  I’ll steal the descriptions of these levels of consciousness from Steve Pavlina’s site because I find that it will be more accurate and detailed than my descriptions, having read this book only once (not yet):

Shame – Just a step above death. You’re probably contemplating suicide at this level. Either that or you’re a serial killer. Think of this as self-directed hatred.

Guilt – A step above shame, but you still may be having thoughts of suicide. You think of yourself as a sinner, unable to forgive yourself for past transgressions.

Apathy – Feeling hopeless or victimized. The state of learned helplessness. Many homeless people are stuck here.

Grief – A state of perpetual sadness and loss. You might drop down here after losing a loved one. Depression. Still higher than apathy, since you’re beginning to escape the numbness.

Fear – Seeing the world as dangerous and unsafe. Paranoia. Usually you’ll need help to rise above this level, or you’ll remain trapped for a long time, such as in an abusive relationship.

Desire – Not to be confused with setting and achieving goals, this is the level of addiction, craving, and lust — for money, approval, power, fame, etc. Consumerism. Materialism. This is the level of smoking and drinking and doing drugs.

Anger – the level of frustration, often from not having your desires met at the lower level. This level can spur you to action at higher levels, or it can keep you stuck in hatred. In an abusive relationship, you’ll often see an anger person coupled with a fear person.

Pride – The first level where you start to feel good, but it’s a false feeling. It’s dependent on external circumstances (money, prestige, etc), so it’s vulnerable. Pride can lead to nationalism, racism, and religious wars. Think Nazis. A state of irrational denial and defensiveness. Religious fundamentalism is also stuck at this level. You become so closely enmeshed in your beliefs that you see an attack on your beliefs as an attack on you.

Courage – The first level of true strength. I’ve made a previous post about this level: Courage is the Gateway. This is where you start to see life as challenging and exciting instead of overwhelming. You begin to have an inkling of interest in personal growth, although at this level you’ll probably call it something else like skill-building, career advancement, education, etc. You start to see your future as an improvement upon your past, rather than a continuation of the same.

Neutrality – This level is epitomized by the phrase, “live and let live.” It’s flexible, relaxed, and unattached. Whatever happens, you roll with the punches. You don’t have anything to prove. You feel safe and get along well with other people. A lot of self-employed people are at this level. A very comfortable place. The level of complacency and laziness. You’re taking care of your needs, but you don’t push yourself too hard.

Willingness – Now that you’re basically safe and comfortable, you start using your energy more effectively. Just getting by isn’t good enough anymore. You begin caring about doing a good job — perhaps even your best. You think about time management and productivity and getting organized, things that weren’t so important to you at the level of neutrality. Think of this level as the development of willpower and self-discipline. These people are the “troopers” of society; they get things done well and don’t complain much. If you’re in school, then you’re a really good student; you take your studies seriously and put in the time to do a good job. This is the point where your consciousness becomes more organized and disciplined.

Acceptance – Now a powerful shift happens, and you awaken to the possibilities of living proactively. At the level of willingness you’ve become competent, and now you want to put your abilities to good use. This is the level of setting and achieving goals. I don’t like the label “acceptance” that Hawkins uses here, but it basically means that you begin accepting responsibility for your role in the world. If something isn’t right about your life (your career, your health, your relationship), you define your desired outcome and change it. You start to see the big picture of your life more clearly. This level drives many people to switch careers, start a new business, or change their diets.

Reason – At this level you transcend the emotional aspects of the lower levels and begin to think clearly and rationally. Hawkins defines this as the level of medicine and science. The way I see it, when you reach this level, you become capable of using your reasoning abilities to their fullest extent. You now have the discipline and the proactivity to fully exploit your natural abilities. You’ve reached the point where you say, “Wow. I can do all this stuff, and I know I must put it to good use. So what’s the best use of my talents?” You take a look around the world and start making meaningful contributions. At the very high end, this is the level of Einstein and Freud. It’s probably obvious that most people never reach this level in their entire lives.

Love – I don’t like Hawkins’ label “love” here because this isn’t the emotion of love. It’s unconditional love, a permanent understanding of your connectedness with all that exists. Think compassion. At the level of reason, you live in service to your head. But that eventually becomes a dead end where you fall into the trap of over-intellectualizing. You see that you need a bigger context than just thinking for its own sake. At the level of love, you now place your head and all your other talents and abilities in service to your heart (not your emotions, but your greater sense of right and wrong — your conscience). I see this as the level of awakening to your true purpose. Your motives at this level are pure and uncorrupted by the desires of the ego. This is the level of lifetime service to humanity. Think Gandhi, Mother Teresa, Dr. Albert Schweitzer. At this level you also begin to be guided by a force greater than yourself. It’s a feeling of letting go. Your intuition becomes extremely strong. Hawkins claims this level is reached only by 1 in 250 people during their entire lifetimes.

Joy – A state of pervasive, unshakable happiness. Eckhart Tolle describes this state in The Power of Now. The level of saints and advanced spiritual teachers. Just being around people at this level makes you feel incredible. At this level life is fully guided by synchronicity and intuition. There’s no more need to set goals and make detailed plans — the expansion of your consciousness allows you to operate at a much higher level. A near-death experience can temporarily bump you to this level.

Peace – Total transcendence. Hawkins claims this level is reached only by one person in 10 million.

Enlightenment – The highest level of human consciousness, where humanity blends with divinity. Extremely rare. The level of Krishna, Buddha, and Jesus. Even just thinking about people at this level can raise your consciousness.

Dr. Hawkins says that these levels are numbered from 20 to 1000, with 1000 being the highest possible level of existence by humans.  This has to do with a science called kinesiology.  It has to do with a test using two people and using this simple test to calibrate the levels of certain people, events, and situations.  It is said that below the level of 200 (courage), you are using force and not power, which is nowhere as strong as power and always loses to power.  After 200, there is a gradual progression all the way up to enlightenment.  At 500, unconditional love is the default state of being.  At 600, nonduality is the default state of being.  At 700 or higher, enlightenment is the default state of being.  Enlightenment can be described as pure bliss, ecstasy, complete oneness with everything and everyone, with a timeless component to it.  One becomes pure consciousness at this point and sees that our inner reality and outer reality are but one in the same.  It is a place without thought, just a deep inner knowing of the connectedness of everything.

Dr. Hawkins says, however, that most people never move more than 5 points in their entire lives.  Why is that?  Because at the lower levels (below 200), there is a ton of denial.  Most states of consciousness at that point are being dictated by circumstance and not from our inner power.  Courage is the gateway to get out of this force-ful way of living and moving into a more power-ful state of being that is much more rewarding.  So, what is it that holds these people back, other than denial?  Fear, greed, guilt, and other negative emotions.  It takes a gigantic amount of effort just to progress to another level above where you are, never mind go from shame to enlightenment.

I find this book to be very comprehensive and well-written.  I’m not going to divulge any more information on the book because I’m not quite done with it yet.  You can use these calibrations for anything, books, music, whatever.  He explains in detail how to do this in the book.  I have to say, thus far, it is a highly recommended book that deserves significant attention.  For those of you who are interested in raising your consciousness and experiencing higher states of being, as well as understanding how to get there, this is an exceptional book that rivals anything I’ve read in the last 5 years.  It is a lot of material to absorb, so you may not get all of it in your head with just one read, but the concepts he presents here are universal to the human condition and timeless as far as I’m concerned.
